Technique
- Attach a weight with a belt or hold a dumbbell between the feet, then take an underhand shoulder-width grip on the bar.
- Hang with straight arms and shoulders pulled down.
- Pull until your chin passes the bar, keeping the weight still.
- Lower slowly to a full hang.
Cues
- Add weight in small steps.
- Keep the legs still and the core tight.
Common mistakes
- Swinging the weight.
- Adding load before you can do clean bodyweight reps.
- Cutting the range at the bottom.
