Technique
- Stand tall with the arms bent and ready to swing.
- Drive one knee up and punch off the other leg to skip as high as you can.
- Swing the opposite arm forward with each knee drive.
- Land on the ball of the foot and switch legs for the next skip.
- Skip forward over 15 to 20 metres, then walk back.
Cues
- Skip for height rather than just speed.
- Drive the arm and knee up together.
- Land softly and stay tall.
Common mistakes
- Leaning back as the knee drives up.
- Landing heavy on the heels.
- Skipping low and flat.
