Technique
- Hold the kettlebell or kettlebells in the rack position at the shoulders, feet shoulder-width apart.
- Squat down until the thighs are at least parallel, keeping the chest tall and the elbows in.
- Drive up forcefully through the feet and use the momentum to press the bell overhead.
- Lock out overhead, then lower the bell to the rack as you descend into the next squat.
Cues
- Let the legs do most of the work and keep a fluid rhythm.
- Keep the elbows tucked and the torso upright in the squat.
- Breathe in at the bottom and out as you press.
Common mistakes
- Pressing before the legs have extended.
- Letting the knees cave in during the squat.
- Leaning back at lockout.
- Dropping the elbows and letting the bell crash on the shoulder.
