Technique
- Wedge a barbell into a landmine post and stand facing it, feet about shoulder width apart or in a short split stance.
- Hold the end of the bar at the shoulder with one hand and brace the abs.
- Press the bar up and forward along its arc until the arm is straight.
- Lower under control back to the shoulder.
- Finish the set, then switch hands.
Cues
- Squeeze the glutes and keep the ribs down.
- Finish with the arm straight, reaching up and forward along the arc of the bar.
- Keep the hips and shoulders square; do not let the press twist you.
Common mistakes
- Leaning back to push the bar.
- Letting the elbow flare far to the side.
- Shrugging at the top.
