Technique
- Stand tall with feet hip-width apart and hold a kettlebell upside down by the horns at chest height, close to your chin.
- Brace your abs and squeeze your glutes so your torso stays still.
- Circle the kettlebell around your head, passing it close behind your neck and back to the front.
- After a few reps, reverse the direction and repeat.
Cues
- Keep the bell close to the head and the elbows tucked.
- Keep the ribs down so the lower back does not arch.
- Move smoothly and breathe steadily.
Common mistakes
- Letting the head poke forward to avoid the bell.
- Leaning back and arching the lower back.
- Using a bell so heavy that the shoulders hike up.
- Moving too fast so the bell swings away from the head.
