Technique
- Stand with your feet about hip-width apart and the kettlebell on the floor between your mid-feet.
- Push your hips back, bend your knees slightly and grip the handle with both hands.
- Brace your trunk, flatten your back and stand up by driving through your feet.
- Finish standing tall, then hinge back down and set the bell on the floor.
Cues
- Push the floor away rather than pulling with the arms.
- Keep the bell close to your body the whole time.
- Squeeze the glutes at the top without leaning back.
Common mistakes
- Rounding the back to reach the bell.
- Squatting straight down instead of pushing the hips back.
- Leaning back at the top.
