Technique
- Stand tall, glutes and abs braced, one fist held tight at your side with the thumb toward your body.
- Lift the arm forward and up, rotating the palm outward as it passes overhead.
- Continue the arc back and down behind you as far as you can without leaning.
- Return the arm to your side along the same circular path, then repeat slowly and switch arms.
- After the set, reverse the direction.
Cues
- Make the circle as large and slow as you can with no compensation from the trunk.
- Squeeze the fist to keep the whole arm active.
- Take about 10 seconds per rotation.
Common mistakes
- Leaning or twisting the body to extend the range.
- Letting the elbow bend.
- Moving fast so the weak parts of the range get skipped.
