Technique
- Stand holding a dumbbell in each hand, palms forward.
- Shift your weight onto one foot and lift the other knee to hip height, or rest that foot against the standing ankle.
- Find your balance, then curl both dumbbells to the shoulders.
- Lower under control and switch the standing leg halfway through the set or on the next set.
Cues
- Fix your gaze on a point ahead to hold balance.
- Keep the standing knee soft, not locked.
Common mistakes
- Using a weight so heavy that you have to swing to keep balance.
- Letting the hips drop to one side.
- Rushing the reps.
