Technique
- Lie on your back with both legs straight up above your hips and arms by your sides or under your hips.
- Press the lower back gently into the floor and brace your abs.
- Lower both legs slowly toward the floor, stopping where the lower back would start to arch.
- Raise the legs back to vertical, keeping the lower back pressed down.
Cues
- Stop lowering the moment the lower back lifts.
- Bend the knees if the range is too hard.
Common mistakes
- Letting the lower back arch off the floor.
- Dropping the legs quickly.
- Holding the breath.
