Technique
- Lie on your back with arms by your sides, palms down, and the knees bent at 90 degrees above the hips.
- Brace the abs and press the lower back toward the floor.
- Curl the pelvis up, lifting the hips off the floor and bringing the knees toward your chest.
- Lower the hips slowly back to the floor without letting the legs drop.
Cues
- Lift the hips by curling the pelvis, not by swinging the legs.
- Breathe out as the hips rise.
Common mistakes
- Throwing the legs back for momentum.
- Pushing hard through the hands to lift.
- Letting the feet drop to the floor between reps.
