Technique
- Stand on one leg with a soft knee and hands on hips or crossed on the chest.
- Push the hips back and tip the torso forward, the free leg extending behind you.
- Go down until the torso is near parallel to the floor, then stand by driving the hips forward.
Cues
- Keep the hips level and square.
- Move the torso and back leg as one lever.
Common mistakes
- Rotating the hip open.
- Rounding the back.
- Bending the standing knee into a squat.
