Technique
- Kneel on one knee with the other foot flat in front and a pad under the kneeling knee.
- Rack a kettlebell at the shoulder on the side of the kneeling leg, wrist straight and elbow close to the ribs.
- Squeeze the glute of the kneeling leg and brace your abs.
- Press the bell straight overhead to lockout.
- Lower slowly back to the rack; finish the reps and change sides.
Cues
- Keep the torso upright and the kneeling hip extended.
- Keep the wrist stacked over the elbow.
- Press close to the head, not out in front.
Common mistakes
- Leaning sideways to reach lockout.
- Letting the bell flop onto the forearm and bending the wrist.
- Arching the lower back.
- Losing the half-kneeling position as fatigue sets in.
