Technique
- Stand or sit holding a light dumbbell by one end in a neutral grip, with the other end pointing forward and the forearm resting on the thigh.
- Let the front end of the dumbbell lower slightly toward the floor.
- Raise the front end of the dumbbell up by tilting the wrist toward the thumb side.
- Lower back slowly to the start.
Cues
- Use a very light weight and a long lever.
- Keep the forearm still.
Common mistakes
- Using a dumbbell that is too heavy for the small wrist muscles.
- Moving the elbow.
- Jerking at the bottom.
