Technique
- Start in a push-up position with hands slightly wider than shoulder width and body in a straight line.
- Lower your chest toward the floor.
- Push up hard so your hands leave the floor.
- Clap quickly in the air, then return your hands to the start position.
- Land with soft elbows and go straight into the next rep.
Cues
- Keep your trunk and glutes tight so the body moves as one piece.
- Push fast but land quietly.
Common mistakes
- Landing on locked elbows.
- Letting the hips sag on the landing.
- Trying it before regular push-ups feel easy.
