Technique
- Hold a handle in each hand, face the anchor point and lean back with arms straight in front of you and body in a straight line.
- Set your feet so the leaned position is challenging but controllable, with the palms facing each other.
- Open your arms out to the sides until they are in line with your shoulders and your chest is open.
- Squeeze the shoulder blades together, then return slowly to the start.
Cues
- Keep the body in one straight line, glutes tight.
- Keep the arms nearly straight and think of spreading wide.
- Walk the feet toward the anchor to make it harder, away from it to make it easier.
Common mistakes
- Letting the hips sag.
- Bending the elbows and rowing.
- Shrugging the shoulders.
- Moving so fast that the straps swing.
