Technique
- Secure a barbell in a landmine anchor, load the free end lightly and stand facing it with feet a little wider than shoulder-width.
- Hold the end of the bar with both hands, arms nearly straight, with the bar beside one hip.
- Swing the bar up and across in a wide arc to the other hip, passing about head height, while your torso turns and your feet pivot with it.
- Reverse the arc with control to the starting side and keep alternating.
Cues
- Pivot both feet and let the hips turn with the bar.
- Keep the arms mostly straight and the ribs down.
- Start with a light load and a small arc.
Common mistakes
- Pulling with the arms alone instead of turning the whole body.
- Twisting through the lower back while the feet stay planted.
- Using a load that swings you off balance.
