Technique
- Start in a push-up position, then walk the feet in and lift the hips high so your body forms an inverted V.
- Bend the elbows and sweep your chest down and forward, close to the floor between your hands.
- Keep moving forward and straighten the arms, letting the hips drop and the chest lift up and open.
- Push the hips back up to the inverted V to return to the start.
Cues
- Make it one smooth, continuous wave.
- Keep the hands planted and the elbows close to the ribs on the way down.
- Move only as far into the back bend as is comfortable for your lower back.
Common mistakes
- Dropping the hips first and dragging the chest along the floor.
- Locking the elbows hard and dumping weight into the lower back at the top.
- Rushing the reps and losing control of the arc.
