Technique
- Stand on the bottom of a loop band, feet hip-width, and place the top of the loop across the back of your shoulders.
- Keep knees slightly bent and push the hips straight back, torso tipping forward with a flat back.
- Lower until you feel a strong hamstring stretch, then drive the hips forward to stand tall.
Cues
- Think of closing a car door with your hips.
- Keep the spine neutral and the band steady on the shoulders.
Common mistakes
- Rounding the lower back.
- Squatting instead of pushing the hips back.
- Using a worn band; check it for cracks before use.
