Technique
- Set an incline bench between two low pulleys and sit back with your shoulders on the pad, so the cables reach your hands from behind or below you.
- Take the handles with palms up and let the arms hang down and slightly behind the body so the biceps are stretched.
- Curl the handles toward your shoulders without lifting the elbows forward.
- Lower slowly back to the stretched position.
Cues
- Keep the upper arms pointing down and slightly behind you.
- Use the stretch at the bottom without bouncing.
Common mistakes
- Sitting too upright, which removes the stretch.
- Swinging the elbows forward.
- Using a load that makes the shoulders roll forward.
