Technique
- Adjust the seat so your upper arms lie flat on the pad and the elbows line up with the machine's pivot.
- Grip the handles underhand with the arms almost straight.
- Curl the handles toward your shoulders.
- Lower slowly until the arms are nearly straight, keeping tension on the biceps.
Cues
- Elbows stay on the pad the whole time.
- Line the elbow up with the pivot before the first rep.
Common mistakes
- Lifting the elbows or shoulders off the pad.
- Letting the weight stack crash between reps.
- Using a seat height that puts the elbows above or below the pivot.
