Technique
- Sit on the edge of a flat bench and hold its sides behind your hips.
- Lean back slightly and stretch the legs out straight, heels just off the floor.
- Raise the straight legs as high as you can without leaning further back.
- Lower them slowly until the heels are just above the floor.
Cues
- Keep the chest up and the spine long.
- Move slowly; there is no swinging in this one.
Common mistakes
- Leaning far back so the abs stop working.
- Letting the heels rest on the floor between reps.
