Technique
- Set a bench to about 30-45 degrees and lie face down with the chest on the top of the pad.
- Hold one dumbbell with the palm facing forward, arm hanging straight.
- Row the dumbbell toward your hip, keeping the elbow close to your side.
- Lower it slowly until the arm is straight, finish the set and switch sides.
Cues
- Keep the chest on the pad the whole time.
- Drive the elbow back toward the hip, not up toward the shoulder.
Common mistakes
- Twisting the torso off the bench to lift the weight.
- Curling the dumbbell with the biceps instead of rowing.
