Technique
- Set an adjustable bench to about 45 degrees and lie face down on it with your chest against the pad and a dumbbell in each hand.
- Let the arms hang straight down with the palms facing each other.
- Raise both arms forward and up until they are in line with your torso.
- Pause briefly, then lower slowly to the start.
Cues
- Keep the chest and head on the pad.
- Use light dumbbells; the bench removes all body swing.
Common mistakes
- Lifting the chest off the bench.
- Bending the elbows far to add momentum.
