Technique
- Attach a close-grip neutral handle, lock your thighs under the pad and grip the handle with palms facing each other.
- Sit tall with arms fully extended, chest lifted and shoulder blades pulled down.
- Pull the handle to your upper chest, keeping the elbows close to your body.
- Return under control until your arms are straight and your shoulders are stretched.
Cues
- Drive the elbows down toward your hips.
- Lean back only slightly and keep it fixed.
- Exhale as you pull, inhale on the way up.
Common mistakes
- Leaning back further on each rep to finish it.
- Letting the elbows flare out to the sides.
- Rounding the shoulders forward at the bottom.
