Equipment
Technique
- Stand with two kettlebells on the floor a little in front of you, hinge at the hips and grip one handle in each hand.
- Hike both bells back between your legs, then drive the hips forward and keep them close as they float upward.
- As the bells pass your chest, punch both hands through the handles so they land softly on the backs of your forearms overhead.
- Stand tall with both arms locked overhead for a moment.
- Bring the bells back down the same path into the next hike, and repeat.
Cues
- The power comes from the hips; the arms guide the bells.
- Take a slightly wider stance so both bells pass between the legs.
- Master the single-arm snatch and double clean first, and start light.
Common mistakes
- Pulling the bells up with the arms so they loop wide.
- Letting the bells flip hard onto the forearms.
- Leaning back and arching the lower back overhead.
- Rounding the back when the bells swing down.
