## Technique

1. Set the Roman chair so your feet are secured and your hips rest on the pad edge, with your arms crossed on your chest.
2. Lower your torso back just to a comfortable position without arching.
3. Curl your torso up until you are upright or just past vertical.
4. Lower again with control.

### Cues

- Stay within a range where the lower back is neutral.
- Curl up rather than hinging at the hips.

### Common mistakes

- Hyperextending the lower back at the bottom.
- Using momentum.
- Hands behind the head pulling the neck.
