# Cable Cross-Body Y Raise

## Technique

1. Set a pulley at the lowest position and stand side-on to it.
2. Take the cable in the hand farther from the stack so it crosses in front of your body.
3. Raise the arm up and out on a diagonal, ending above shoulder height in a Y shape.
4. Lower slowly along the same path back across the body.

### Cues

- Lead with the thumb pointing up.
- Keep a soft bend in the elbow.
- Finish with the shoulder blade drawn slightly down, not shrugged.

### Common mistakes

- Leaning away from the cable to get the arm up.
- Shrugging toward the ear at the top.
- Letting the cable snap the arm back down.
